The other PTP list is just a nest of drama, disagreements, arguing, complaining over what is cheap and what isn't and a bad imitation of who we are and what we're about.
I started the PTP (PTP1) list so that fair players could spread the word about other fair players and tell us why they were worth playing. Once I saw that people were making bogus accounts to nominate themselves/cheapers, I created the ranking system (PTP2), which told you who nominated who and forced a person to receive three separate nominations (only one nomination from a clan mate would be accepted) to officially appear on the list. That worked better, but people rarely explained why they were adding someone, so it was kind of pointless.
The other PTP list is going backwards. This one is going to move forward. Like I said, the concept was for fair players to list other fair players and explain what made them not only fair, but fun to play. This list is going to do that, but in a different way than you might expect.
Each one of you is going to have and maintain your own PTP list. You list who you want to list, tell us why you put them on your list, explain their play style, give details about your match(es) and anything else you can think of. Aside from the general RG rules you can judge players based on your own criteria. Some people think whipping someone to the turnbuckle a lot is spam, others don't. Some think breaking up pins to prolong a match is lame, others don't. You get the idea.
First, reply to this topic. At the top of your post give one paragraph about what you look for in a player. Do you like someone who plays realistically (Rein), or someone who entertains and tries to be funny (Common)? If you tell us what you like, then make a list of people you enjoy playing, we'll know what to expect. Second, you'll list the Gamertags of players *you* think are good and worth seeking out. When you post their name, give a brief description about why you are adding them.
That's it, go find needles in haystacks! Uh, I mean go find good players online!

[My ideal opponent is someone who tries to recreate the style and spots of the wrestler they are using. They know how to work a match. They don't suddenly stop countering so I can be in control and perform my moves while expecting me to do the same. They adapt to the match. If one series of moves goes wrong/is reversed, they improvise, not try to repeatedly hit the spot over and over until they connect. They aren't afraid to end the match after succeeding with their finishing combo, realizing you can always rematch.] I'm using a rating system as well. Obviously just appearing on this list makes the person a worthwhile opponent (remember... IMHO) but the stars are there to judge their ability and how much fun I had in the match. One star means that, while they were perfectly fair, they were bland/unoriginal or conditions prevented me from rating them with any depth. Gamertag | Rating | Information | Videos | YUNGWHAZ | | Nevermind. Apparently he thinks I'm cheap because I wait four seconds to do a move after grappling. | N/A | tooLigit2quit69 | | Used a 85ovr Terry Funk. Tried to play realistically, but asshole opponents prevented it. | N/A |
Garbage Can: (Think of this as a PTA list, only with no depth.)1. BiggAntt (Stat Hacker), 2. Fallon Phoenix (Unblockables), 3. JoHnNy KaRate (Unblockables), 4. ballacreggy (Quitter), MoB Illusions x (Auto Win), SpacesickSoup88 (Unblockables), flashyjaycool (Unblockables)

I pride myself on the ability of putting on " A wrestling match" although previous installments of the series, due to a broken mechanics system, has prevented me from doing so, i still go all in. Usually, i like for my opponent to play To there character. It brings out the realism of the game. That as well as spots helps to captalize on the excitement of the match. I have no problem losing to a roll up, as long as the match had a great build, im fine.
With the return of limb damage, i would prefer the golden rules, dual red limb damage, signature and finisher. Now, not all matches have to end like that, based on the build.

If I notice anybody good outside of RG, I'll make sure to add it.

What I look for in a match is pretty simple, competitive fun without that extra urge to go all out to win, let the match flow and let reversals and grapples dictate what way the match will take place. There are very few instances I will let an opponent pull off a spot without trying to reverse, but I won't try to interrupt said spot by running away, 3rd reversing, etc.
I think I play a very conservative style, which sucks for me because I'm pretty terrible at reversing, but I usually sit back and see what type of match my opponent wants to play before I take action. I try to be as inventive as I can with spots and try to stay in line with what the wrestler I pick would do, usually keeping running moves to a minimum.
I guess what I'm looking for in an opponent is a fairly competitive player that at the same time will keep move repetition to a minimum while trying to do something other than grapple, pick up, grapple, pick up, grapple..... Trying to pull of spots is one thing, but like Rein said, don't try time after time to pull it off, if it ain't working, try something else.
Anyways, I'd like to add my very first random to this PTP list :
iTonehh - I'd say he's about on par with me as far as actual reversing skill is concerned, not bad, but not great. He's also the first person I've ever fought in this game, friends included, that did not attempt a single running move for the entire duration of our 8+ minute match. Some qualms are that he doesn't really mix things up, he'll often times fall into that grapple/pickup/grapple/pickup category while repeating the same moves a handful of times, and likes to third reversal with grapples a few times. But overall a very fair player, will attempt chain grapples while you're groggy (which is almost reason enough to add him on this list for me) and will actually try to win the match once he gets a finisher without coming off as too desperate.
Edit : I sent him a message and a friend request post-match, but no response. I think he signed off

I have to talk more about that asshole who thinks I'm cheap (yes CHEAP) for holding a chain grapple for four seconds... see, when you take it this far, you pass right by being fair and come back around to being lame. This is like LVA members counting throws to the turnbuckle or people saying 5 of any move is spam, unless the match goes over thirty minutes, then 7 is the new limit. Again, it can reach a point where you become lame for trying to be fair. Counting the fucking seconds between grapple and move is a prime example of this. After performing a move immediately after grappling and having it reversed, any player with a double digit IQ is going to mix up their timing. He's playing as Zack Ryder, firing off wake up taunts/finishers as soon as he earns them, doing every Rough Ryder variation as a normal move and taunting outside, but I'm cheap for holding a grapple.
People are insane, and it's these people who tarnish the good name of people who actually do play fair. Instead of looking at us in a positive light, they see us as radical extremists who bitch and moan when someone HOLDS A GRAPPLE FOR FOUR SECONDS!

I once had someone bitch me out for going for pins every other move. Um, don't they do that...ON TV?! Doesn't mean that I am TRYING to pin you. I'm building the match, dumb fuck. I've done that for years and I'm not going to stop just because YOU say so.
The same player also passive aggressively took a shot at me in the guise of (patronising) praise for pinning with a top rope cross body pin even though I have no setups for it...so it's actually HARDER for me to hit than my finisher.
Cry anyway? Sure. Cry For The Moon, asshole! Common will get that (I think).
I suspected selective memory at work from said individual, whose 'character' was a nonentity Mary Sue. Exciting!
So you mean this 'fair' player had Rock and Batista taunts, with laughable names for his sigs/finishers....AND took himself uberserious? That's like, so cool?
The best part is he said I probably used an object to kick out. If fingers are objects then yes, I definitely use objects to kick out.

Sometimes no matter how fair you play people will always find some fault in how you play. You can play by a specific set of rules agreed on before the match. Then when your starting to beat someone by their own rules they try to make new ones during the match cause their getting beat by their own crutch. You beat them then they make up excuses about overalls when they are their at the beginning when the other person joins your match. I play by the old rules two body parts red pin on finisher. Funniest complaints I heard was " You didn't let me run" and " You spam grapple" Last time I checked this was was wrestling not Track and Field. By the way someone tried to complain about holding them in a grapple 3 seconds. Some people wanna get stuck in their own play-style and don't want to evolve.
Some want the same old game year after year they are comfortable with little exploits they pick up over the years. When little exploits are taken out they never learned anything else so some make a huge fuss over every little change. I have seen it all from run patterns, to certain sequences of moves put together to an old school favorite "the old Run counter". Running around like an idiot trying to time hitting the counter button when someone goes for a grapple looks like a run move while many find this legit it can it got annoying if that's all they are doing. When it got removed I saw a sharp decline in SvR players.
I could go on here listing everything I have seen or experienced or others "tried to keep secret". As more old exploits get removed I'm gonna watch the SvR/Wwe retirement home fill up. You know what they do in retirement homes sometimes complain and complain about everything new, others try and talk about their glory days. Reminiscing is good at times but I will not let it get in the way of enjoying a new wrestling game. The only way I can even see myself not getting the next wrestling game is if Yukes ever came out with another version of SvR 2008. It was a game of what beat what style.
I'm glad to see a lot old faces return some I'm not. I've never been one to jump on the band wagon of others. I've always thought outside the box.

Well fucking said. Good to see you here again, by the way. It'll probably be a good few months to a year before we see another post from Grave again. Shame. Quality over quantity though.
